We were tasked to create some work to accompany a festival
Manchester City were throwing for their fans.
After an underwhelming season they were looking to the future. And with the arrival of their new superstar manager, Pep Guardiola, and a total redesign of their badge,
it’s a new era for the club.
We needed something to capture this spirit. Something to inspire fans,
fill them with hope and get them behind the team.
Manchester City also used our work for their social posts, and the hashtag #ItBegins was adopted by fans.
During the weekend of the festival #ItBegins was the 3rd most used Instagram hashtag in the world.
2017
Manchester City is a club made up of multi-million pound superstars and state of the art facilities, all bank-rolled by the billionaire deputy prime-minister of the UAE. It could be seen as living in a different world to the everyday fan from Manchester. But in truth, they have one of the closest relationships with their fans of any club in the Premier League.
We were tasked with bridging the gap between fan and superstar. So we did just that, by literally bringing the fans and their idols together for a very special training session.
The photo’s taken were used across a range of comms to promote the
launch of their new “Cityzen’s” scheme.
